Wellbeing
Our aim is to improve wellbeing as a means of tackling ill health and deprivation.
Poor health is one of the key factors undermining the wellbeing of our community.
We focus on providing accessible opportunities and services that help people feel good and we do this by connecting people together, helping them to be active, learn new things, be creative and mindful and give through volunteering.
Live Well, Live Longer
We aim to make it fun to lead a healthier life and feel better in the process. We do this by helping people improve their health and wellbeing in a way that is achievable. You can always expect a warm welcome at our weekly groups, that are aimed at the beginner, and are free or highly subsidized.
Weekly groups include Tea dance, yoga, booty shakers, Tai Chi, Pilates, art class, music bingo, gardening group, community bingo, Sing Along – is there something you’d like to try? Contact us
Just One Thing
Every week through the year we run a Just One Thing Challenge. Following the learning from Dr Michael Mosley, we introduce community members to simple lifestyle changes that have proven transformative effects on all aspects of health and wellbeing.
Examples of challenges include:
Drinking more water
Avoiding hidden sugar
Gardening once a week
Eating fermented foods
These health boosting interventions can raise mood, reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system and help with weight loss among other positive effects.
Our weekly action workshops are fun, exploratory, dynamic and hands on. We practice the interventions and share results. Come and join us !
