Our New Wellbeing Centre
Update ! September 2016 We have successfully received funding for the Wellbeing Centre from the Big Lottery, Merthyr Councils Vibrant and Viable Places Programme, The Henry Smith Charity, Ffos-y-fran, Welsh Government Communities Facilities Fund, BBC Children In Need. A huge thanks to all our generous funders.
Changes are happening on Gellideg ! An opportunity has arisen to create a brand new Wellbeing Centre in the heart of the estate on the site of the old social club. The Wellbeing Centre will have, training facilities, a youth centre and an Early Years Unit, so that everyone can have help with improving their skills, getting healthy and learning. The new building will be a beautiful, inspirational place with lots of opportunities for everyone. Please come in and join the conversation. Your ideas are needed to help shape the future of the estate.
Following much community consultation and really helpful input from residents and stakeholders, the plans for the Wellbeing Centre continue to change. Please see that latest plans that were submitted for Planning Permission on March 27th 2015.
Latest News: We have worked with contractors and our design team to ensure that the Wellbeing Centre can be built to time and on budget.
