The Environmental Taskforce has been in development in response to concerns raised about the general condition of the ward. Our Environmental Taskforce team has completed many gardens and projects and has satisfied a huge number of customers to date.

The taskforce will continue to tackle environmental issues and deliver environmental projects, examples of their work to date are, dry stone walls in Gellideg, Twyncarmel and Heolgerrig, improvements to the flat area at the Gellideg Foundation, improvements to the school grounds and major clear ups of areas that are hot spots for fly tipping.

Aswell as these improvements the task force will also carry a project which involves garden maintenance. The scheme is available to residents living within the Cyfarthfa Ward who are aged 60+. The scheme is aimed at getting peoples gardens to a standard that they will be able to maintain yourself, however there will be exceptions for those who suffer mobility problems. However, if you are a council tenant this scheme is only availalbe to you between the months of October to March, this is due to the fact that the council operate the same service during the months of March to October.

However, if you do not meet this criteria you can access this service at a normal cost.
